With a background in arts, theology, and business administration, I build bridges between regions and disciplines.

Umar Burkhan is an Associate Professor with a PhD in Finance and a CIMA qualification. He received his education from the Tashkent Institute of Finance (Uzbekistan) and Texas A&M University (USA).

Umar has extensive experience in the field of education, having worked at institutions such as the University of Iowa in the USA, Czech University of Life Sciences, and the Prague Institute of Management and Technology in the Czech Republic. He has held various top management positions within the education system in Uzbekistan, including Vice Rector at the Tashkent Institute of Finance, Vice Rector of the Tashkent State University of Economics, Chief Consultant at the Presidential Office, and World Bank Coordinator for Education in Uzbekistan.

In addition to his educational roles, Umar has significant experience in finance, having worked with AEGON Consulting in the USA, Honda Europe in the UK, and Black Ice in Prague, Czech Republic.

Jekatěrina Kuzmiščeva, known as Kate, is the current Head of the Study Department at the Prague Institute of Management & Technology (PIMT). She studied International Relations and Diplomacy at the University of International and Public Relations and holds a Master’s degree in Insurance and Banking.

At PIMT, Kate plays a key role in managing academic coordination, supporting students, and ensuring smooth operation of the institute’s programs. Her professional and organizational leadership helps maintain high academic standards and enhances the student learning experience.

Prior to joining PIMT, Kate gained over 8 years of experience at Generali Česká pojišťovna, the leading insurance and investment company in the Czech Republic. Her background in insurance and finance brings added value to her current role, combining industry insight with academic service.

With strong communication skills and a deep understanding of both educational and corporate environments, Kate helps bridge practical knowledge and academic excellence within PIMT.
